I suggest adding the publish option on the menu option on the cards in space. Also add it in the space sidebar where the options are available for the course. It makes for easier publishing without needing to open the course sidepanel.

Also, all the errors that you would get while the course sidebar is open, you would also see them at space level - including the message before publishing.
